I am non-binary (enby) and this is 12 year old me, Al.  Not a guy, not a gal, Al. These arrows contain words that have been hurled at me leaving lasting wounds. While doing research for this piece I was not surprised to learn that 94% of non-binary adults have considered suicide (UCLA Williams Institute). What may surprise you is that there is one simple way you can help reduce that rate! If and when you are told someone’s name and pronouns; use them, no questions asked, just use them. Unconditional acceptance of the trans and non-binary people in your life can save lives.
